This one day class will introduce you to painting abstractly with oil paint and using cold wax as a medium. We will start with mark making and exercises to loosen up. The class will introduce you to the fundamentals of working abstractly with this wonderful medium.

The class is for beginners as well as seasoned painters. Feel free to bring to class any small paintings that you may have started - oil or acrylic. (Don’t worry if you don’t have any). I will provide substrates (paper, cradled panel, paints, and tools) for all participants. Please note that the paintings you take home will be somewhat wet as oil takes a while to dry.

You will have the opportunity for hands-on painting, creating your own paintings in your own style or in a range of styles. The class size is limited to 6 allowing for one on one instruction.

Please bring to class an apron, a lunch, a sketchbook for ideas or notes.
